Every area of HR management is included in NWI SHRM programs: employment, compensation, benefits, training and development and employee relations. Below are some of the many types of events and information available through NWI SHRM.
Monthly Meetings - NWI SHRM programs are held the third Wednesday of the month in January, February, March, May, July, September, October and November. The majority of our events will be luncheon programs, however, we also offer an occasional breakfast program and after hours networking events. Our monthly program speakers present on valuable and informative topics and cover a variety of human resource disciplines selected by our members through regular membership surveys. Check out our website for upcoming events.
Networking - Our networking events are focused on providing an interactive networking environment for our members and guests. Would you like to improve your networking skills? Be sure to watch for one of speed networking events.
Professional Development Workshops - NWI SHRM has established a comprehensive program schedule for our members. Each year, NWI SHRM and their partner sponsors offer monthly educational sessions on a wide range of timely topics. The majority of our programs provide HR recertification credit hours.
Educational Conferences - The annual NWI SHRM HR Conference is a full-day conference held in April of each year and provides cutting edge information on the latest developments impacting HR professionals. The program is presented by leading experts and designed to educate in a practical and engaging manner. Our State Chapter (NWI SHRM) holds an annual conference each fall and we always have a lot of representation at this extremely worthwhile event.
Bulletins and News - Regular e-news helps to inform our members of upcoming programs, events, conferences, legislative updates, and contains informative articles about current issues that affect our field. As a member, be sure to keep your profile updated to receive regular information.
Career Opportunities - You can advertise your HR openings and find qualified candidates on our CAREER CENTER web page. Also, HR Professionals in transition can post their resumes, as well as research and apply to advertised positions. Contact our Chapter Manager, Barbara Black at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Certification - You have the opportunity to develop your career opportunities and enhance your profession through national Certification as a Professional in Human Resource Management. Certification by the Society for Human Resources Management is a distinguished honor among human resource professionals, demonstrating mastery of the field and challenging you to stay abreast of new developments. We provide a facilitated study group each fall to assist you in preparing for the exam. If you’re interested, contact our Chapter Manager, Barbara Black at email@example.com.
